Woman of the Week ~ Barbara Ward

Here at Executive Elements, we like to feature fantastic women we think you should know. Some of these women are clients, some are friends, some are women we’ve only just met. But they all have this in common: they are dynamic, interesting women who have agreed to share with us their insights and secrets to success.

My Name: Barbara Ward

My Current Job/Company: Vice President, Travel & Events / One10

My Work: I run the Travel & Events division for One10. I support my leaders and their teams in the overall design, planning and delivery of all of our travel programs that we operate for our fantastic clients.

My Passion: My family, my kitties!

My Family: Jerry (Fantastically Supportive Husband), Samantha (Extraordinary Step Daughter- 22), Riley (Fantastic Step Son – 21) – Murphy & Jax – our two amazing boy cats – they fill every day with happiness!

My Hero or Heroes: My mom. Marilyn – she passed away a few years ago but she brought all of her children up to believe that we could do anything and especially pushed her two daughters to not let our being women confine our aspirations – she was Amazing!

My Escape: The quiet of gardening or a really good book.

My Pet Peeve: People who judge or won’t accept other people that aren’t like them or don’t believe like they do. Wouldn’t it be great if we all just let everyone live however they want to as long as it’s not hurting someone else?

My Indulgence: A great homemade cookie or bar – but it HAS to be worth the calories!

My Roots: Farm Girl and proud of it! I was brought up to be independent and have a strong work ethic – if you want something – set your goal and then be prepared to work hard for it as it won’t just be given to you which makes achieving the goal that much sweeter!

My Future: Incredibly busy, fast paced and ever changing.

My Favorite Quote: “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.” – Amelia Earhart

My Accessory: Hoop earrings and great shoes.

My Advice to Young Women: : Everything is possible and don’t be afraid to fail – it will only make you smarter and stronger.

How I Balance it All: Amazing understanding and love from my husband – when things get too crazy he brings me back to the basics and helps me reset. I also make sure that I take time each week to have some silent alone time to get re-centered.
