My Current Job/Company: Chief Medical Officer, Forge Biologics. Professor of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh

My Work: I took care of patients with fatal neurodegenerative conditions for 22 years, I developed a therapy for one of the diseases and became part of a startup to move this therapy forward. I currently work in this company so to make it available to all children affected.

My Passion: My family, helping children with rare diseases.

My Family: Paul (Husband), Isabella (30), Julianna (28)

My Escape: Colombia, Punta Iguana, Baru, an Island in the Caribbean

My Pet Peeve: Negative people

My Indulgence: Dancing

My Roots: Colombia, Europe. Family and friendships that last forever.

My Future: Busy and Bright. Optimistic.

My Advice to Young Women: Follow your heart, believe in yourself, and think outside of the box.

How I Balance it All: Prioritize at work, live in the moment with family, friends, and be mindful of your own needs every day.

My Work: I ensure that both member and employee experience is positive, and work to enhance the experience for both consumers and employees of Telhio.

My Passion: My family and my community.

My Hero or Heroes: My mother, who balanced full-time jobs and still managed to make us dinner every night. My father, who has owned his own business since 1991.

My Escape: I love to travel. Currently in-flight as I write this! Looking forward to an upcoming summer vacation to Italy!

My Pet Peeve: People who don’t wave when you let them change lanes in heavy traffic!

My Family: Ken (the most incredible husband) and Marshall! My family is everything to me!

My Hero or Heroes: My Dad. He was an incredibly kind, intelligent, and fun person. I am thankful he showed me how to bring people together and the importance of being resilient.

How I Balance it All: My community of family, friends, and mentors help me navigate all aspects of myself by allowing me the space to talk! I spend a lot of time thinking about how to navigate situations and then it’s helpful to talk it through with someone I trust. Strength and support are found in our personal and professional communities.

My Work: I ensure our Company’s client’s expectations are met and our Company’s brand recognition is positively highlighted. My Work: Nurture provides in-home lactation and infant developmental services to families in Franklin and surrounding counties. It is our goal to support families in reaching their feeding goals.

My Pet Peeve: Avoidance of open communication or my kids leaving trails of stuff around the house

My Advice to Young Women: (1) Know your value and don’t be afraid to take space (2) Be ready to pivot: look for Plan B, C, and D, when Plan A doesn’t work (3) Lift up other women and minority led businesses. There’s strength is numbers!

How I Balance it All: I’ve learned to outsource what I can and prioritize the things I value most (family dinner, bedtime cuddles, getting in nature, etc).

My Family: Brad (Supportive Husband), Lexi (Amazing “older” Daughter- 24), Margaux (Amazing “baby of the family” Daughter – 15).

My Hero or Heroes: My husband. He has been with me through the worst of times and the best of times. He is truly amazing.

My Escape: Italy or Emerald Isle with my husband. The food and lifestyle in Italy draw me in and we both love it there. Emerald Isle, NC is our favorite beach that we have been going to for almost a decade.

How I Balance it All: Don’t sweat it. Prioritize and say no to things I am unable to do. I can’t be everything to everyone. Decide what is important to me and in life.

My Work: I created and lead the BSA function at OCLC, which started as 4 BSA’s and has grown to a team of 26. We help product software development teams identify, document, and manage requirements.

My Passion: My family, being accomplished and happy, and helping others do the same.
