Vice President, Central Ohio Specialty— OhioHealth Physician Group/OhioHealth

My Work:
Serve as operational and strategic leader for over 15 specialties such as Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Urology, and General Surgery across Central Ohio. Leading teams to be problem solvers, relentless on improving the patient experience and driving operational excellence.

My Passion:
Faith, family and serving others.

My Family:
Scott (husband, best friend, witty pragmatist) and Stella (super fun 2 year old).

My Hero or Heroes:
My Mother — Strong, whimsical and never met a stranger in her life!

My Father — Served Indianapolis as a police officer and community leader.

Civil Rights Leaders collectively — Those who paved the way to provide me and so many others the opportunities we have today. I never forget what so many individuals have done to make right the many injustices of the past and today.

My Escape:
Any travel destination or my home with a good book.

My Pet Peeve:
In work — Lack of preparedness.
In life — People who aren’t aware of their surroundings.

My Indulgence:
Wine, clothes, shoes — in no particular order!

My Roots:
Midwestern (Indiana born and bred) with east coast (my former and second home is Philly) and southern connections (North Carolina/Alabama). Diversity in lineage. Humble and always serving.

My Future:
Boundless — Bright — Bold.

My Favorite Quote:

My Accessory:
A great pair of shoes.

My advice to Young Women:
You can do what others tell you that you can’t. Sit at the table — you belong there.

How I Balance it All:
Support from family and work. Making myself okay that there will be imbalance certain days or weeks.

My Current Job/Company:
Executive Director/German Village Society

My Work:
I have the pleasure of working with three professional staff and 400+ passionate volunteers to make all things German Village historic, vibrant and FUN.

My Passion:
I love neighborhoods with character – even before I took this job. I love conversations. I want to make things I touch a little bit better than the way I found them.

My Family:
Husband, Dimiter and Louis & Dimo our elderly dachshunds.

My Hero or Heroes:
I never really think in these terms. I’m trying to find the representation of hero in everyone I meet. Some make that easy. Others…

My Escape:
Dimiter and I love to motorcycle (yes, I ride my own) and scuba dive. But I also read voraciously – heck, I’ll read the back of the cereal box if there’s nothing else nearby.

My Pet Peeve:
Negative and/or entitled people.

My Indulgence:
I think I have a pretty good track record around making my life an indulgence – travel, food, drink, self-care. I’m looking for a little happy in every hour.

My Roots:
They’re in Nebraska with parents who I love and a sister who has been a best friend since her birth.

My Future:
I’m thinking a lot about it right now.

My Accessory:
Shoes. So. Many. Shoes.

My advice to Young Women:
Embrace the stages. You get taught skin and silly choices in your 20s, but wisdom and friendships just keep adding depth as those laugh lines set in.

How I Balance it All:
Do I balance it all? Hmmm. It helps to have teams of helpers and cheerleaders.

Jim (Husband – and the only reason I can do what I do every day), Grace (Inspirational Daughter- 6) and Jack (Adorable Son – 3).

My Hero or Heroes:
My dad who has believed in me and loved me every day of my entire life.

Dedicated time with my family and running/working out.

My Pet Peeve:
Placing blame vs. taking control.

My Indulgence:
Food (oh how I wish it were something else).

It is so easy to tear others down to build ourselves up, but it is much more powerful when we take the time to build each other up and be a part of the success of others.

Prioritize and surround myself personally and professionally with some amazing people.

My Passion:
Helping young adults and others to cultivate a healthy, conscious and empowered relationship with money.

Rosalind (Mom), Thornton (Dad), Dana & Chederika (Sisters), Derrick (Brother)

My entire family and of course Michelle Obama.

My Current Job/Company:
Development Director/Girls on the Run of Central Ohio

My Work:
I raise funds so that no girl is ever turned away due to financial need from our life-changing, self-esteem building program; I literally get paid to raise money to build little girl’s self-esteem.

My Passion:
My family and children. Having grown up with foster siblings, I am passionate about making sure that all kids have access. I want all children to have the same opportunities as my own.

My Family:
Pat (High School Sweetheart/Husband), Maddy (Smart and Strong Daughter – 6), Drew (Hilarious Son – 3), and Nate “Nater Tater” (Sweetest Baby – 1).

My Hero or Heroes:
I really admire people who aren’t afraid to do what’s right for themselves or others without caring about what other people think.

My Escape:
Running. Yoga. Time with good friends and my family. Being near the water.

My Pet Peeve:
Cruelty and selfishness. Also drivers who don’t understand pedestrian rules.

My Indulgence:
I love wine. Specifically anything that sparkles. Bonus points if it’s on a patio.

Columbus born and raised. Family first. Always finding the joy in the every day.

My Future:
Busy, hectic, never as organized as I would like, but bright and full of love and laughter.

Word hard and play hard. Do all of the things. Get involved. Stand up for yourself. Do what you know is right in your heart always. Love yourself – even when you don’t want to.

How I Balance it All:
Lists and scheduling. I can work and run my life from my smart phone. Everything is in a to do list or in google calendar. Also having a hands-on partner and tons of support is critical for me.

My Current Job/Company:
Director of Marketing at sparkspace

My Work:
I promote sparkspace, which is not just a creative meeting facility; it’s a place to have a memorable experience with your team. I believe that teams who take the time to come together, collaborate, communicate (and have a little fun too!) are way more successful in the long run. That’s why I am so passionate about bringing people to our unique space in the Arena District.

My Passion:
Sharing food around the table with loved ones.

My Family:
My husband, Nick. He’s truly my best friend.

My Hero or Heroes:
My mom! She instilled a sense of curiosity in me at a vey young age and encouraged me to explore the world around me. She is also always very present, which leads her to live a very full life. I strive to be like her!

My Escape:
My hometown on Lake Michigan. Give me the sand and the sunset over the water any time and I’m a happy camper.

My Pet Peeve:
People who only talk about themselves.

My Indulgence:
Large bucket of popcorn in the movie theater seeing the newest Marvel movie (I’m a sucker for all that superhero stuff).

My Roots:
I was a wild child that ran through the forests and sand dunes of Grand Haven, Michigan. Lover of the outdoors and part of a close-knit community in a small beach town.

My Future:
Intentionally filled with people and things that bring me joy. Spreading that joy to others. Always seeing the positive. Always making it a point to laugh each day.

My Favorite Quote:

Smile. Leopard print shoes.

My advice to Young Women:
Don’t worry about how others may perceive you. If something interests you, then do it! Just dive right in and try something new.

How I Balance it All:
Meditation has been a game changer for me lately. 7 minutes in the morning (5 seemed too short and 10 minutes seemed too long) gets me centered and focused; it allows me to start the day fully present. I actually tried not meditating for a few days just to see if I would notice the difference and boy did I ever. I’ve become such a big believer that I’m trying to get my husband in on the routine with me.
