Woman of the Week ~ Abigail Pringle

Here at Executive Elements, we like to feature fantastic women we think you should know. Some of these women are clients, some are friends, some are women we’ve only just met. But they all have this in common: they are dynamic, interesting women who have agreed to share with us their insights and secrets to success.

My Name: Abigail Pringle

My Current Job/Company: President, International and Chief Development Officer for The Wendy’s Company

My Work: I lead a fantastic International team that is focused on growing the Wendy’s brand around the world. I also lead the global real estate, design and development team for the US and International businesses.

My Passion: Transforming teams, people, and organizations to achieve things they did not think were possible.

My Family: My husband David whom I met at Wendy’s many moons ago, my son Elliot (17) HS Senior, and my daughter Catherine (7) a 2nd grader.

My Hero or Heroes: My mother, Jane, is my heroine. She is a wife of more than 50 years, a mother of three, a medical doctor (1 of 13 women in her med school class), and even served as a state rep after retiring so she could make an impact on healthcare policy for those who need it most.

My Escape: Going on fun travels with family to Maine where I grew up or going on other adventures to discover new places and cultures. During Covid that has turned into watching travel related shows on Netflix etc.

Pet Peeve: When folks are like Eeyore, closed-minded, negative or blame others.

My Indulgence: Salt and Vinegar potato chips or mint chocolate chip ice cream

My Roots: Farming, Hard Work, and a Big Family, Big Heart.

My Future: Is bright. Lifting others up. Transforming.

My Favorite Quote: “A stumbling-block for the pessimist is a stepping-stone to the optimist”. Eleanor Roosevelt.

My Accessory: My long hair, a sharp looking suit, being an energy-giver, having an optimistic outlook.

My Advice to Young Women: Have a voice, take a position, and be really curious, and lastly, don’t stew on the negative- move on.

How I Balance it All: Find work that gives you joy and integrate it into your life so it’s not always a balancing act. Surround myself with an amazing team at home and work, and prioritize and reassess regularly.
